The 2014 Year Closing Party!

Professor Yim hosted current and former lab members at Uhican Place(유익한 공간) on December 22nd, 2014. Awesome foods with entertainment were served, and it was such a GREAT time to get to know each others:D Moreover, it was meaningful to all of us that we can donate to children in Africa!

The 2014 ASHA Convention

CLL researchers attended the Annual ASHA Convention at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida, November 20–22, 2014. Professor Yim's oral presentation and four poster presentations were asked to be presented.

CLL researchers attended the KASA(The Korean Academic of Speech-Language Pathology Audiology) 2014 at Catholic University of Daegu, Gyeong-San on September 20th. Four poster presentations were asked to be presented.

-Analyses of Gender Differences onVisual and Auditory Working Memory and Its Relationship to Word Learning.

Congratulations to the Graduating Class of Spring 2014!

Spring 2014 Commencement Ceremony was held on August 29th. 1,841 students (Doctoral 83, Masters 770, Bachelors 988) received their degree.

This semester, Yoonhee Yang graduated with a MA degree in communication disorders!

2014 Best Research Award at EWHA Womans University!

Commendation awards luncheon and ceremony were held at the official residence of president at EWHA womans university on May 15th. This ceremony has been held for outstanding scholarly achievements and the research grant supported from outside of Ewha Womans University since 1999. Twenty-nine professors were awarded the best faculties and researchers of the year.

This year, Professor Yim was awarded Faculty Best Research Award with.

Language Assessment  of Bilingual children in Los Angeles

Graduate assistants Sara Yoon & Wonjeong Park visited Dreamland & Preschool for Korean-English bilingual children, located in L.A., U.S.A. The trip was supported by BK 21+, internationalization support project. 

The purpose of visit was to evaluate general language abilities in bilingual children and investigate their non-verbal intelligence, working memory, and learning ability. In addition, Sara and Wonjeong visited Speech-language clinic only for Korean-English bilingual children and looked into general service environment through interview with the center director.

Best Paper Award at CSCW 2014!

The 17th ACM Conference on CSCW (Computer Supported Cooperative Work and Social Computing) was held from February 15th to 20th, 2014. CSCW nominates about 5% of submissions and provides Best Paper Award to 1% of total submissions. This year, professor Yim and her colleagues won the Best Paper Award at ACM CSCW 2014 for  "TalkBetter: Family-driven Mobile Intervention Care for Children with Language Delay".

The 3rd Collaboration on KSHA and KASA & Awarding 'Lee Seung-Hwan scholarships'

CLL researchers attended the 3rd Collaboration on KSHA(Korean Speech-Language & Hearing Association) and KASA(The Korean Academic of Speech-Language Pathology Audiology) at Honam University, Gwangsan on January 1st. Three poster presentations were asked to be presented (Yang, Yoon-hee, Kim, Shin-young, & Han, Jiyun/Park, Wonjeong, Yoon, Sara, & Han, Boyeon/Hong, Sung-mi). 

Every year, KASA nominates the best journal article and provides 'Lee Seung-Hwan Scholarships', and the last year Hong, Sung-mi, a former CLL researcher, received this scholarship.
