Professor Yim hosted current and former lab members at La ville de Pins on December 21st. It was valuable time to get to know each other with nice food and fun activities.

CLL researchers attended the Annual ASHA Convention at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver, Colorado, November 12-14, 2015.

Four poster presentations were asked to be presented.

 

-Can Working Memory Intervention Affect Language Skills in Children with Specific Language Impairment?

-The Contribution of Inhibition to Quick Incidental Learning with and without Specific Language Impairment.

-Domain Specificity of Information Processing and Word Learning in Children with Specific Language Impairment.

-The Effect of Information Processing on Working Memory Tasks: Exploratory Factor Analysis.

The 4th Collaboration on KSHA and KASA Convention

CLL researchers attended the 4th Collaboration on KSHA (Korean Speech-Language & Hearing Association) and KASA(The Korean Academic of Speech-Language Pathology Audiology) at Woosong University, Daejeon on November 7th.
Nine poster presentations were asked to be presented.

 

-The contribution of inhibition to Quick Incidental learning of school-age children with and without Specific Language Impairment (SLI).

-The relationship of grammatical judgment and implicit learning considering frequency and joint probability.-Identification of language impairment using verbal and visuo-spatial short-term and working memory tasks.

-The Effect of Parental Education using Smartphone Application on Interaction skills.-Attention Networks in Children with Language Impairment.

-Statistical Learning in Children with Primary Language Impairment (PLI).

-Effects of working memory training in children with specific language impairment.

-Executive Functions in Korean-English Bilingual Children with Language Impairment.

-Case Reports: Bilingual Assessment Protocol.

The signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Seoul Metropolitan Eunpyeong Hospital and the Dept. of Communication Disorders, Ewha Womans University was held on 6th November 2015 at Seoul Metropolitan Eunpyeong Hospital, Seoul, Korea.

Professor Yim & Yang, a CLL researcher, attended SRCLD Conference at Monona Terrace Convention Center in Madison, Wisconsin, June 4-6, 2015. Three poster presentations were asked to be presented in this year.

 

-Semantic priming and interference effects on word learning in school-age children with specific language impairment.

-Modality constraints on working memory tasks in children with and without specific language impairment.

-Interaction skills via spontaneous speech sample analysis: 2-5 year old children with and without language impairment.

SRCLD 2015 Travel Award Notification

Congratulations Wonjeong Park!

Wonjeong Park has been selected to receive an SRCLD Student Travel Award for the 36th Annual Symposium on Research in Child Language Disorders (SRCLD) in Madison, Wisconsin, June 4-6, 2015.  Her “NIH Travel Award” is in the amount of $750.

Fall 2014 Commencement Ceremony was held on Febuary 23rd.

3,600 students (Doctoral 135, Masters 1,131, Bachelors 2,334) received their degree.

This semester, Shinyoung Kim, Sara Yoon, and a former lab member Boram Choi graduated with a MA degree in communication disorders:)
